Energy & renewables

When it comes to energy and renewables, we know what we're talking about. We've been involved in the sector for over 20 years, advising on a wide range of projects for a variety of organisations.

Our experienced legal team is one of the few that can provide UK-wide legal advice, supporting projects in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Our clients span the sector, from high growth entrepreneurial companies to large utilities. We act for all parties, including developers, banks, equity investors, contractors and suppliers. We've also advised government departments on the implementation and operation of energy efficiency and renewables policy.

Our specialist team of legal experts advises clients on all aspects of renewable energy projects including project finance, commercial, construction, corporate, environmental, health & safety, planning and property law. This includes advice on planning issues, leases and title issues, construction/supply chain contracts, grid connection arrangements, power purchase, FIT and ROC agreements; and finance and related security documents.

In a market report by The Lawyer and Clean Energy Pipeline, we ranked in the top five for European M&A deal activity; completing 26 deals worth approximately £168 million.

We also ranked seventh for European project finance deals, having advised on 18 deals worth £182 million.
