TLT has been shortlisted in two categories at this year's Scottish Legal Awards, including the flagship Lawyer of the Year award for Stephen McGowan, head of licensing (Scotland).
TLT is also a finalist in the Community Contribution category, recognising the Scotland team's extensive contributions that make a real and sustainable difference in the local community.
McGowan leads the largest licensing practice in Scotland at TLT, and has achieved exceptional recognition for his contributions to the leisure and retail industries as well as licensed trade and licensing practice-related charities and organisations.
On 16 November 2017, Stephen was accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Licensing Law; one of only seven solicitors in Scotland to hold this accreditation.
McGowan comments: "I am honoured to be shortlisted for this award, which really is recognition for all of my colleagues at TLT. We are lucky to have such a cracking group of people who are really passionate about the work they do and the clients we represent."
Jonathan Rennie, the employment partner who led the community contribution entry, adds: "TLT lives and breathes its values of being driven, flexible and supportive, which naturally extends to the way we work with and support local groups, individuals and initiatives.
"Our charity committee goes beyond the norm and we embrace people's desire to have a positive impact in the community. It's a very holistic approach that means we support a wide range of initiatives and that celebrates the variety in our team and the local area."
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Glasgow on 15 March 2018.
